Luke Humphries puts in another darting exhibition to obliterate helpless Ryan Joyce 10-2 and reach 2025 UK Open quarter-finals

The world number one is into the quarter-finals at the 2025 UK Open. After an incredible 10-0 success in the last round, Luke Humphries has now obliterated Ryan Joyce 10-2, meaning he has incredibly taken 20 of the last 22 legs he's played!
Luke Humphries took an incredible whitewash victory over Ryan Searle in the last round. The world number one was threatening a similar result here early on as well, flying into a 3-0 lead. Some sloppy darts then creeped into Humphries throw in leg 4 though, and as his frustration levels rose, Joyce took advantage to get himself off the mark with a break. Humphries broke straight back in leg 5 though, heading off stage 4-1 up.
As it turned out, that blip in leg 4 was looking increasingly like a single speed bump on the road to complete and utter domination from the Premier League Darts leader. Humphries continued to operate on a completely different plain to Joyce in the second session, racing through it with five straight legs to move just one away from a place in the last eight in Minehead.
After the break, Joyce kicked off strongly with a 180. After Humphries went wide on the bull for a match winning 170, 'Relentless' then sealed his second leg in style too with a 142 checkout. There was no comeback though, and a few moments later, Humphries secured the victory with a 76 checkout.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
