Luke Humphries has kept his hopes of adding the
UK Open to his growing trophy haul after a comfortable and comprehensive - victory over
Ricky Evans in the semi-finals.
With this the biggest match in the career of Ricky Evans, you felt a positive start was imperative. Sadly, fter missing a dart at the bull for the first two legs, the speedster didn't get another dart at double in the opening session. Luke Humphries 5-0 at the break.
Evans did finally get off the mark in the sixth leg after Humphries missed three darts at double 14. When Humphries missed more darts in the following leg, Evans had multiple chances to get a break back. He couldn't do so though, with the world champion eventually moving 6-1 clear on double 5. Despite Evans showing signs of improvement, Humphries took the session 3-2 to move 8-2 ahead, just three legs from victory.
From there, Humphries wasted little time faffing around. The world number one raced through the next three legs without reply for a 11-2 win, to set up a final showdown against Dimitri van den Bergh.
