Luke Humphries vs Gary Anderson pick of QF ties after Danny Noppert freezes Gerwyn Price at Players Championship 8

Danny Noppert has advanced to the quarterfinals of Players Championship 8 at the expense of Gerwyn Price. Luke Humphries and Gary Anderson also made it to the last eight.

A crucial moment in the match between Noppert and Price was the sixth leg, in which "The Freeze" managed to break his Welsh opponent with a 12-darter. It proved to be the only break of the match, giving Noppert the upper hand 6-3. Gian van Veen eliminated Josh Rock, who was in the final on Monday. Van Veen trailed 2-3 against the former world youth champion, but then managed to win four legs in a row for the victory. Kevin Doets settled with Daryl Gurney after a deciding leg and won 6-5.

Anderson defeated Danny van Trijp. It was 6-2 for the Scot, and in doing so sets up a showdown with Luke Humphries, who triumphed 6-5 against Chris Dobey, the winner of Players Championship 7. Stefan Bellmont, Radek Szaganski and Andrew Gilding are the other three quarter-finalists.
