Luke Littler and Dave Chisnall both out at first hurdle at Players Championship 13

The first round has started at Players Championship 13 with numerous major casulaties thus far including Luke Littler who was defeated averaging only 79 in a poor loss to Robert Grundy.

It was a 6-5 win for Grundy who averaged nearly 10 points more than 'The Nuke' as Littler endures a poor return to action for the first time since the World Series of Darts. He has one more day to put it right before the World Matchplay.

While top seed Dave Chisnall also bowed out to Niels Zonneveld in a high quality match in which the Dutchman averaged 101 to 100 in a 6-4 win. Also out is Players Championship Order of Merit leader, Ryan Searle. He was defeated by Jitse van der Wal. Damon Heta lost out to Nathan Aspinall in a tough first round draw.

Those through though included Gerwyn Price victor over Christian Perez. Gary Anderson averaged 102 in seeing off Jose de Sousa. Ross Smith, Martin Schindler, Gian van Veen and Stephen Bunting are also all winners.
