Christian Kist is also awarded his Silver pin badge, after producing a perfect leg on the Winmau Challenge Tour last month!
The PDC highlighted a number of darters this Wednesday, prior to the start of the fifteenth Players Championship tournament of 2024. The reason? For managing to throw a nine-darter at a PDC tournament in recent weeks.
For years, the PDC has given players who throw a nine-darter on the PDC circuit a nice memento. Darters who throw a perfect leg at a television tournament receive a golden 9-darter pin. A silver pin awaits players who throw a nine-darter at floor tournaments.
Dimitri van den Bergh managed to throw a nine-darter at the World Matchplay in July, and could thus receive a gold pin. Luke Littler also received a gold pin for his nine-darter in the Premier League final, while gold rewards were ready for Luke Humphries and Ross Smith. They threw a perfect leg on the Euro Tour.
Earlier this month, Stephen Bunting, Adam Hunt and Boris Krcmar provided a perfect leg at a Players Championship tournament. They thus receive a silver pin. Christian Kist also received a silver memento from the PDC. The Dutchman produced a nine-darter on the Challenge Tour in June.
A total of 34 nine darters have been thrown so far on the 2024 PDC circuit. The absolute leader in terms of nine-darters is Luke Littler, who has already decided a leg in nine darts four times this year.
