Luke Littler is out of the Winmau World Masters. In the short format, he was undone by Jonny Clayton who has been exceptional thus far in Milton Keynes and was very much miss and he hit for 'The Ferret' who won 4-2.

Littler has added new attention to the sport both from fans and also media who balked at losses to Andrew Gilding last year for instance. Will the ex plasterer line come out in this case as the multiple major champion moves through to join Luke Humphries and Danny Noppert in the semi-finals.

It has been a tournament of shocks, but it has to be said that Humphries now will be the current favourite to win the title with Van den Bergh v Aspinall being the final outing of the afternoon.

After James Wade got blown away by Luke Littler yesterday, many would've thought would think Clayton would succumb to the same fate.

The answer was no as he has took the first set against Luke Littler with a 138 checkout in the deciding leg but 'The Nuke' hit back. He hit successive 12 darters to restore the parity at 1-1. But this was shortlived as 'The Ferret' took the third set without reply to lead 2-1. He drifted off 36 but hit double 16 and led.

It went from bad to worse as starting with a 78 checkout, Clayton held on double two to edge through the fourth set and go one away from the winning line.

Littler in a must win effort set up 35 from 127 with Clayton way back and pinned it to go into the lead with a hold in a must win set. 'The Ferret' responded with his 121 and finger point celebration. One of the best parts of watching the Welshman. Littler claimed the set with an 81 checkout for 3-2 down.

Littler sat waiting on sealing the set and Clayton levelled up after being broken. He was now throwing for the match. He hit 180 number eight and had six darts at 140. He set up double 20 for the win and claimed the win.
