Mike de Decker's incredible darting year has ended in disaster with Luke Woodhouse sending him packing to reach the third round of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.

De Decker would've had dreams of grandeur in terms of the Premier League for instance with a good run after producing some of the best displays in the world including winning the World Grand Prix.

But he looked slightly to have changed his throwing style and it proved to not work at all as Woodhouse who is always rock solid and has had a great year himself proved to be a nightmare draw.

Woodhouse had a dream start to the tie as the Bewdley ace wrapped it up in three straight legs to send De Decker into all sort of trouble. He hit two 180's and a 96 average en route to a 1-0 lead. De Decker in particular seriously struggled on the outer ring.

As well as his power scoring which was his real string to his bow. When he finds the first dart, it is usually followed but he was averaging just 81 and sat down at 8% on the doubles as he went 2-0 down pretty promptly against 'Woody'.

But he finally started to find something as he blitzed the third set without reply hitting three 180's to halve the deficit and make it 2-1.

But a poor leg from De Decker which saw Woodhouse break handed the tools back to the latter as he hit double four to make it 2-1. He completed the feat against 'The Real Deal' with a 90 checkout completed on double 20 to book his third round spot. He will now face Damon Heta or Connor Scutt for a spot in the fourth round after Christmas.
