Martin Lukeman will be Martin Schindler's opponent in the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship after victory over Nobuhiro Yamamoto in three sets.
The Japanese ace grew into the match and got better and better but it was not going to shake Lukeman who lost three legs in moving through.
Lukeman sealed the opening set in a routine start to the tie sealing three consecutive legs despite missing eight darts at doubles.
This run continued not only of Lukeman legs but also missed darts as he finally hit double one to go 2-0 up with his average going up to 86 despite 6/21 on the outer ring.
After a 180, Yamamoto held and hit another as he looked to attack the throw of ‘Smash’ and he went six perfect darts in before hitting a 100 checkout going double double on double 20. Lukeman broke back though on double 14 and was on the brink of victory sealing it on double four.
