Man Lok Leung made history at the 2026 Saudi Arabia Darts Masters, becoming the first player to win a PDC match in the Kingdom after a memorable victory over Danny Noppert.
Clearly emotional after the match, Leung admitted the occasion meant a great deal as he opened his campaign with a win on debut in Saudi Arabia. Noppert later confirmed after the loss that he was unwell which is why he was uncharacteristically poor.
Albeit Leung has undoubted class and has long been seen as a player who potentially could make the step up towards the PDC Tour and find their way. “I’m very happy to be on the stage in the first match and get the first win in Saudi Arabia,” he said.
The significance of the moment was not lost on the Hong Kong star, who described the achievement as “unbelievable” when told he was the first-ever winner of a PDC match in the country.
Leung has already impressed on the global stage at both the World Championship and World Cup, and he revealed just how daunting the draw felt when he learned he would be facing Noppert. “Yesterday at the draw, I knew I was playing Danny Noppert,” Leung explained. “I was so nervous because I’ve watched so many of his videos on YouTube.”

Leung potentially set for Q-School

Despite the nerves, Leung produced a composed and confident performance, and he believes the win could be a valuable boost ahead of the opening Asian Tour events of the new season. “I think it’s a good thing for next week’s Asian Tour,” he said.
Looking further ahead, Leung also outlined his long-term ambitions in the sport, confirming his desire to progress towards the professional ranks. “I have a plan,” he said. “Maybe next year I will join Q-School.”
When asked if earning a tour card remains the ultimate goal, Leung was clear in his determination. “Yeah, I’ll try my best.”
