McDonald claims first PDC Challenge Tour title with victory over Girvan in Event Five final

Shaun McDonald has claimed his first PDC Challenge Tour title after winning Event Five in Milton Keynes on Sunday afternoon.

McDonald who made his return to darts at the turn of the year after years away has hit the ground running with good form shown at Q-School, Online Darts League and now claiming a Challenge Tour title.

He becomes the third Scotsman this weekend to win a title joining Darren Beveridge and Jim McEwan. As well as other title winners - Adam Smith-Neale and Jim Williams.

In the process, he saw off another Scot in Nathan Girvan 5-4 after seeing off Graham Usher (5-4), Kevin Garcia (5-1) and Kevin Burness (5-0) en route.

The final event of the weekend is now underway with the draw below. It had started while Event Five was finishing but a fire alarm halted its progress.
