The semi-final lineup is complete at the
Premier League Darts in Birmingham with
Michael Smith and
Michael van Gerwen joined Luke Humphries and Luke Littler in the last four.
Against
Gerwyn Price, Smith raced out of the blocks, firing into an early 4-0 lead over the Welshman. Despite Price scoring incredibly well, and getting right back into the match at 4-3, Smith managed to refocus and get himself over the line with a 6-3 win. In the end, Smith averaged 104.45 compared to Price's just over 103 with 6 maximums between them in the contest.
Michael van Gerwen is the man Smith will face in the semis. In a topsy-turvy contest with
Nathan Aspinall, a stunning 152 checkout from the Dutchman proved vital and despite opting not to go for a match winning dart at the bullseye with Aspinall sat on only 123 in the last leg, 'the Asp' couldn't punish allowing van Gerwen to return and seal a 6-4 win.
