Michael Smith joins illustrious list after tenth Players Championship title

Michael Smith won his tenth Players Championship title last Monday by beating Gary Anderson 8-7 in the final of Players Championship 13.

With that, 'Bullyboy' has joined an elite list, as there are only 11 other players who have won at least 10 Players Championship tournaments.

The clear leader on the list is Phil Taylor with 45 titles. Behind him is Michael van Gerwen with 34 final wins in floor tournaments. Gary Anderson was close to his 26th title against Smith, but remains stuck on 25 for now.
Peter Wright has been the best at a Players Championship tournament 22 times, followed by James Wade with 18 final wins. Dave Chisnall (14), Gerwyn Price (13), Adrian Lewis (12) and Simon Whitlock (12) have double figures of Players Championship wins.
Colin Lloyd and Ian White, like Smith, stand on ten Players Championship titles. They leave behind the likes of Raymond van Barneveld, Rob Cross and Ronnie Baxter, who are currently on nine.
