Michael Smith reflects on nine-darter in World Championship final: "Wayne Mardle makes it even more special"

The greatest leg of darts of all time. A high-quality World Darts Championship final between Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen was highlighted by a nine-darter by 'Bully Boy'. Watching it back with Bet365, Smith reflected on the leg.

"I've watched it a lot of times," Smith admits. "When he missed, I just gave him a little 'unlucky mate'. Then I was like 'hold my pint' and I'll do it properly. It wasn't until I got back to my room that I realised how good this leg actually was."

Everyone has seen the leg by now, probably multiple times. One of the best things about it is the commentary from Wayne Mardle and Stuart Pyke as Smith acknowledges.

"Just listening to Wayne Mardle and Pykey makes it even more special," Smith says with a smile. As Mardle went into overdrive the now iconic commentary line was born, "I can't spake, I can't spake!"
