Budapast hosts the Hungarian Darts Trophy, the twelfth tournament of the European Tour 2025, this weekend. With three tournaments to go, this tournament offers an excellent opportunity for several players to gather the necessary prize money towards qualification for the European Championship.
After 11 of 14 tournaments, it is notable that two players are in the top five for both highest averages and highest doubles percentage. These are - not entirely surprisingly - Gerwyn Price and
Michael van Gerwen.
Both Price and Van Gerwen already won a European Tour tournament this year. Price was the best at the Baltic Sea Darts Open, Van Gerwen won the German Darts Grand Prix.
In the top five highest averages, Price leads the dance. 'The Iceman' has already played 19 matches on the European Tour this year and clocks in at an average of 101.23. In doing so, he narrowly beats
Luke Littler (101.02). Third (Josh Rock) follows well behind with an average of 98.60.
Surprising number one with highest doubles percentage
Michael van Gerwen has already played 14 matches on the European Tour this year, achieving an average of 98.43. That puts 'Mighty Mike' just in the top five. In the top five of players with the best doubles percentage on the European Tour, Van Gerwen is third with 46.63%. That list is somewhat surprisingly headed by
Leon Weber. The German with a doubles percentage of 51.06% even stands far above the rest, as the number two (Luke Littler) follows at a considerable distance with 48.04%.
Leon Weber has the highest doubles percentage on the 2025 European Tour
After this weekend, two more tournaments of the European Tour 2025 will follow with the Swiss Darts Trophy and the German Darts Championship. The European Championship takes place from Oct. 23 to 26 in Dortmund. Ritchie Edhouse defends his title at that tournament after beating Jermaine Wattimena 11-3 in last year's final.
