Momotu Sakai unbeatable and wins his first two Asian Tour tournaments in one fell swoop

Momotu Sakai was the celebrated man at the Asian Tour tournament in Mongolia on Saturday. The Japanese managed to win both the 13th and 14th events of the season.

They were immediately Sakai's first two titles on the PDC Asian Tour. At the thirteenth tournament, he successively defeated Baatardorj Dorjsuren (4-1), Tsolmonbayar Ganlkhagva (4-1), Tsedendamba Purevdorj (4-1) and Erdenejamts Batsuuri (4-0) to qualify for the last sixteen. There followed a win over Haruki Muramatsu (4-2), before Sakai managed to raise his level considerably.

In his last three matches, he recorded victories over Boldbaatar Bayarmagnai (4-2), Alexis Toylo (5-2) and Man Lok Leung (5-3). In all three of these matches, Motomu managed to throw an average of above 100.

Later in the day, Sakai also won the fourteenth Asian Tour event. At that tournament, he won over successively Batdorj Badamsambuu (4-1), Enkhmonkh Monkhbat (4-0), Tsun Hei Wan (4-0), Batsuuri Narmandakh (4-3), Ryuta Arihara (4-0), Lok Yin Lee (5-3) and Alain AbiAbi (5-0).
