Stephen Bunting is into the semi-finals at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship after 'The Bullet' pulled off a brilliant 5-2 victory over Peter Wright in the quarter-finals on New Year's Day and is now set to face off against Luke Littler.

Bunting got off to a flying start against Wright, winning the first four sets. He then had to push back a mini-fightback from the two-time former world champion who took sets 5 and 6, but with a clear 3-0 in the final set, it was still Bunting who ended up winning comfortably 5-2.

The 39-year-old Englishman has become a real crowd pleaser in recent years, as evidenced again at this World Championship, as the hashtag "Let's go Bunting Mental," continues to make the audience give their full-throated support of their hero each time and singing along enthusiastically with his walk-on song "Titanium" by David Guetta featuring Sia.

Bunting was a curiosity in the darts world for years with his incredibly light darts of barely 12 grams. He now throws a heavier set and it's fair to say that the change has paid off, with Bunting winning the Masters early last year, his first major title and soaring back up the PDC Order of Merit.

He may have put aside his special arrows, but he has kept his unique position at the oche. Bunting throws from the far right side the oche and has done since childhood. "This come about when I was young. I used to play at home and my dad set the board up on the wall, but it was off-centre. So I was always to the right of the board and it just stuck," Bunting revealed in a video on his new official YouTube channel. "I started going out and playing on the boards in the pubs and stuff, and it just felt natural that I was in that position because that's the position I played at home."
