A new Michael van Gerwen shirt has appeared on the market. The shirt was designed by his equipment sponsor Winmau due to a special occasion.
With the exception of at the World Cup of Darts, we have seen Van Gerwen on stage in a green shirt for about thirteen years. Over the years, Van Gerwen has been sponsored by various manufacturers, but since 2020 "Mighty Mike" has been under contract with Winmau.
So this month they are celebrating an anniversary, as the collaboration has now lasted five years. To celebrate this milestone, a special 5 Years Anniversary Shirt has been created.
This modern interpretation of Michael's iconic shirt replaces his signature green with a stylish combination of black and gold. However, it is not expected that Van Gerwen will trade in his competition shirt for the anniversary shirt.
Last weekend Van Gerwen was in action at the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch, where he lost in the quarterfinals to Luke Littler. Next weekend the Winmau World Masters is the next tournament on the program. Van Gerwen is directly admitted to the main tournament, just like all players in the top-24 of the world rankings. Van Gerwen will play a winner of the qualification tournament in the first round on Friday, Jan. 31.
