Nijman claims first win of the day against Webster, Jenkins eases past Van Barneveld

The action continues in the MODUS Icons of Darts Live League with Wessel Nijman and Andy Jenkins claiming victories to add to their tallies.
Nijman who up to today has been in terrific form claimed his first victory of the day against Mark Webster 5-4 after previously losing out by the same scoreline to David Evans and Raymond van Barneveld.
He hit high checkouts of 142 and 140 en route with a 97.5 average as the Dutch youngster continues to find his stride and add more points to his lead at the top for the week.
For Jenkins it is a second win of the day after his earlier triumph against Mark Webster and it is also his second consecutive win over Raymond van Barneveld as the latter cannot find the momentum after winning his first tie of the Icons of Darts Live League earlier.
Jenkins averaged 96.2 en route with 5/7 on his doubles in a 5-2 win as he continues his solid two days he has had so far since joining the competition.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
