No hard feelings for Joe Cullen after Premier League snub: ''Littler HAD to be in! The global attention his rise has attracted is huge for darts!"

Last year, Joe Cullen felt it was ''a kick in the balls'' when he did not receive an invitation to the Premier League Darts, but this year 'The Rockstar' can live better with not receiving the nod.

Once again, the Englishman is not among the chosen few this year. The PDC issued invitations to Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Peter Wright and Luke Littler to participate in the prestigious darts competition.

The big question was whether the PDC dared to pick teenage sensation Littler, who made the World Darts Championship final at age 16. They did indeed take that gamble, and that decision is supported by Cullen.

"Had plenty of messages about PL picks- some saying I should be in, some saying other players should be in..." Cullen wrote on his official X (Twitter) account.

''Personally think @OfficialPDC got it right this year!'' the former Premier League finalist continued. ''Littler HAD to be in! The global attention his rise has attracted is huge for darts! And we as players will all benefit," Cullen concludes.

Cullen has won nothing this year or even been a runner up in any Euro tour or pro tour events. You have the worlds top six ranked players all who have won at least a Major, Euro tour or Pro tour title. Wright is in as (i would guess) being European champion. Gilding maybe has a case as the player who holds a Major (UK Open) but not included. Would maybe have been a popular choice with fans. Can see why Littler is included from the hype factor alone. Aside from Littler its probably the most fair its (Premier League) been base on ranking or titles won. If its going to Europe for any events it may have been better to have had another European in the eight.

Cullen deserves nothing, he has won absolutely nothing and never will. At what point did he think he had any chance of being selected. The first of many deluded players that think they should be in it.

he won the 2022 masters and was a dart away from winning the 2022 PL, so he at least had a case last year. this year he obviously had no case whatsoever, but he didn't claim otherwise to be fair. dobey's probably the one who can feel most hard done by as realistically he would probably perform better than wright just like he did last year. you can't moan when you haven't won a tv tourney since the last PL though.

Cullen should have been in instead of Wright.
