Soon, ITV will be bringing the iconic Bullseye for a new series. It has now been revealed, that for the new edition of the show 'The Voice of Darts' Russ Bray is set to return to TV screens on a regular basis as referee.
Bray was a regular face at major darts tournaments for the past 30 years until he stepped back from his duties after the World Darts Championship ended in early January. Not quite fully retired just yet though, Bray still works as an ambassador for the PDC and can be seen on stage during some World Series of Darts events during the year.
Now Bray is set to join Bullseye's new host, England cricket legend Freddie Flintoff on ITV. "Russ has been the voice of darts for almost three decades and is synonymous with the world championships. It makes perfect sense for him to fill the shoes of the late Tony Green at the oche. No one calls 180 like Russ," sources have revealed to Mirror Sport.
The Bullseye revival will begin with a Christmas special, and if it proves a hit with viewers, ITV is expected to add a full series. Luke 'The Nuke' Littler, winner of the Grand Slam of Darts just last weekend, will be featured in the special as the professional player who throws for charity.
Professional darters were regular guests in the original series in which they tried to score as many points as possible to raise money for the competing pairs of amateur player plus quizzer.
