The PDC Awards are coming up and the nominees for PDC Young Player of the Year have been announced.
They are Ted Evetts who won a remarkable eight Development Tour titles in 2019 and finished top of their Order of Merit by some distance.
Luke Humphries is also up for the award having reached the Quarter-Finals of the PDC World Championship again and also winning the World Youth Championship.
They are joined by Jeffrey de Zwaan and Max Hopp. The former won another ProTour title this past year and also broke into the top 32 for the first time.
Hopp’s year wasn’t as illustrious as the one before but he once again qualified for most major tournaments and was part of the Premier League contenders.

- I think with players above those mentioned in the rankings that haven't qualified for the Worlds in 2023 and haven't done so this year (players like Whitlock, King etc) they are guaranteed to stay in the top 64davetat18027-11-2024
- It is simply not true to say that these 5 players are guaranteed to keep their Tour Cards. At least Karel Sedlacek, Dylan Slavin and Stephen Burton are in danger of losing them, especially if they fail to win their first round match.
