Noppert after dumping out Price in World Matchplay first round: "I'm the happiest man in the world at the moment"

Danny Noppert is through to the second round of the World Matchplay after dumping out Gerwyn Price and inflicting a fourth straight first round defeat on 'The Iceman'.

Price's form in this tournament isn't great; but even so due to his World Number Two status, he came into the contest a heavy favourite. The impressive Dutch No.2 curtailed that with a 10-7 win.

He spoke afterwards and while he said Price wasn't at his best; it doesn't take away from the feeling of defeating the Welshman.

“It’s a real good performance. Gerwyn was not performing good, but I win and that’s the most important thing," said Noppert to Online Darts post match.

“Today, was not good, but I’m the most happiest man in the world at the moment.”
