Noppert and Atkins hit nine-dart finishes during second round clash at PDC Super Series 5

The first nine-dart finish has been hit of PDC Super Series 5 with Danny Noppert hitting the mark during his second round tie against Martin Atkins.

Noppert becomes the 24th player to hit a nine-dart finish this season with one being hit in nearly every single Players Championship before this week.

His compatriot Christian Kist was the last player to hit one on the Challenge Tour but before that, three events have passed without one on the ProTour since Ian White's effort at Players Championship 15.

Following that in the second leg, a second one of the match came in from Martin Atkins who got in on the action with a nine-dart finish to make it 3-3.

Noppert though ended the match with an astonishing 110.3 average to reach the Last 32.
