Northern Ireland ease past Ukraine at World Cup of Darts; Hungary whitewash India

Brendan Dolan and Daryl Gurney have somewhat revenged for their defeat against France at the World Cup of Darts. In the second group match, Ukraine was swept aside 4-0.

The two Northern Irishmen recorded a fine average of 97, compared to just 60 for Vladyslav Omelchenko and Ilya Pekaruk. Dolan and Gurney do need a miracle to still advance to the group stage. Then the two Ukrainians will have to win against French duo Thibault Tricole and Jacques Labre.

Hungary took care of India's elimination. Patrik Kovács and Levente Sarai triumphed 4-0 against Prakash Jiwa and Amit Gilitwala. Hungary will play Canada on Friday night for a spot in the second round.

The World Cup of Darts is scheduled from 15 to 18 June. The first two days of play will see the completion of the pool phase. The four top nations England, Wales, the Netherlands and Scotland will enter the tournament from the knockout stage.
