Danny Noppert got off to a strong start at the
New Zealand Darts Masters. With an excellent 6-2 victory over Ben Robb, 'The Freeze' managed to turn his first match on New Zealand soil into a win.
Noppert put in the best performance in the first round of the New Zealand Darts Masters. The Dutch, former UK Open champion achieved an average of 98 and also threw a finishing percentage of 54 percent.
Afterwards, the former UK Open champion revealed via Instagram that he was extremely happy with the victory. Moreover, Noppert indicated that the conditions in the venue were not ideal, something that seemed to bother many players during the first round.
''Yess!!! The first win during my adventure in New Zealand is in,'' opened the 32-year-old Dutchman. ''I was a bit bothered by the wind on stage, but was throwing well. Super looking forward to tomorrow already,'' Noppert concluded by referring to his quarterfinal against Gerwyn Price.
