Brian Raman will not compete at the Flanders Darts Trophy this weekend. The Belgian, nicknamed ‘The Riddler’, had hoped to showcase himself on the big stage at home, but his participation has fallen through due to an administrative error within his management.

Raman announced the news via his own Facebook page. An official statement says the Belgian was not entered for today’s qualifier. As a result, taking part in the Flanders Darts Trophy, staged this weekend in Antwerp, is no longer possible.
For Raman, it is a particularly bitter blow. He says he was highly motivated to test himself against the international elite and was eager to represent his sponsors and supporters at this key European Tour event.
“Brian wanted to compete on this fine stage, but due to an administrative error within the management, Brian was not entered for Thursday’s qualifier,” the statement reads. “This unfortunately means that participation in the Flanders Darts Trophy this weekend is no longer possible.”

Painful timing

The timing makes it all the more painful. The Flanders Darts Trophy is one of the most important darts events currently staged on Belgian soil. For Raman it would have been a prime opportunity to perform in front of a home crowd and measure up to established PDC names.
The statement also asks for understanding from the fanbase. “Our apologies to all sponsors, supporters, and everyone who wanted to see Brian play this weekend. We understand the disappointment and deeply regret this situation.”

Raman refuses to be consumed by frustration. Despite the missed chance, the Belgian is already looking ahead to the next challenges on his schedule. The message from Raman’s camp is clear: this setback must not affect the long term. “Mistakes happen, but the road ahead remains the same,” it emphasizes.

Other challenges

That road still features several compelling targets. Raman is aiming for the ADC Global Championship, while the WDF World Championship at Lakeside is also on the agenda. In addition, ‘The Riddler’ will play the MODUS Super Series.
That gives Raman quick chances to shake off the Flanders Darts Trophy disappointment at the oche. By his own account, the Belgian remains positive and focused on his objectives.

Missing the qualifier is a heavy setback, but Raman is looking forward. According to his team, the incident does not alter the Belgian’s ambitions. “A missed opportunity, but certainly not the end of the story,” the statement concludes.
For Raman, there is only one course now: reset and prepare for the next openings. The Flanders Darts Trophy goes on without the 29-year-old Belgian this weekend, but in the coming period Raman will again have multiple stages to show what he can do.
