PDC European Tour MC Elmar Paulke on Kurz winning German Super League: "The way Nico is playing in this Super League, that's the standard"

Nico Kurz claimed victory in the German Super League last weekend to cement his spot at a second consecutive PDC World Championship.

For Elmar Paulke, who works on German TV and also as an MC for the European Tour, he sees the young German as up in the reckoning for being the best player in Germany right now.

Paulke spoke about how for Kurz, he isn't following a traditional path of setting his stall out early with darts and that he wants to keep his job and not commit to playing full-time; while still getting the results he's getting.

"Nico is a very interesting player for Germany. His parents were very good in soft-tip and he is very experienced in soft-tip as well. He said after the final he's not going the professional way, he still wants to do his job, and he still wants to keep it like he's doing it. It's working for him," said Paulke in an interview with the Weekly Dartscast.

"If we have a look at the rankings, Max is number one. We should put Gabriel Clemens in that trio. I think these three are the best now.

The way Nico is playing in this Super League, that's the standard. Last time at the Ally Pally, he beat Joe Cullen. He has great ability, he has a great throw."
