PDC Players Championship Order of Merit Update: Gerwyn Price leads rankings after 10 tournaments, Luke Littler outside top 16

After ten Players Championship tournaments, Gerwyn Price remains at the top of the Players Championship Order of Merit. 'The Iceman' claimed the lead from Gian van Veen by winning Players Championship 9 on Monday.
Although Price suffered a first-round exit in Tuesday’s tournament, his position at the top remained unaffected. The Welshman holds a total of £38,500, maintaining a £500 lead over his Dutch rival.
Chris Dobey sits in third place with £31,500, followed by a new number four—Cameron Menzies—who reached the final of Players Championship 10 on Tuesday. While Menzies fell short in the final, his earnings increased to £30,000. That tournament was won by Josh Rock, who now occupies eighth place with £26,500.
Between Menzies and Rock are Joe Cullen, Ryan Searle, and Martin Schindler, each of whom has already secured a Players Championship title this season. The top ten is rounded out by Gary Anderson and Rob Cross.
Meanwhile, the world’s top three ranked players have yet to make an impact in the floor tournaments. Luke Humphries currently sits in 17th place, with Luke Littler tied for 20th. Michael van Gerwen is even further behind, ranking 92nd on the Players Championship Order of Merit. Former world champions Michael Smith and Peter Wright are also struggling, both sitting in 48th place.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
