PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit Update: Stephen Bunting leads, Cameron Menzies rises with Littler, Humphries in top 10

The PDC ProTour Order of Merit is currently led by Stephen Bunting, who took over the lead from Dave Chisnall after winning his first Euro Tour title at the International Darts Open.
The difference between the two Englishmen is now 12,500 pounds in Bunting's favor. Josh Rock and Martin Schindler share third place, while Luke Littler is positioned fifth. The top-10 also includes Ross Smith, Luke Humphries, Chris Dobey and Ryan Searle.
Littler maintains this position despite barely playing on the ProTour or European Tour this season while for the likes of Chisnall, Rock, Ross Smith and in particular Martin Schindler, they have long starred on either tour.
Ian White who has performed superb as of late though has only just cracked the top 50. He has reached the semi-final and a final on a ProTour this season. This after a long time in the darting doldrums.
Worth mentioning is the rise of Cameron Menzies, who has now worked his way up to twelfth place on the Pro Tour Order of Merit. In doing so, he leaves behind such big guns as Damon Heta, Gerwyn Price, Gary Anderson and Jonny Clayton.
Through the Pro Tour, players can qualify for the televised tournaments. At tournaments such as the World Matchplay and the World Grand Prix, in addition to the top-16 of the world rankings, the sixteen best players of the Pro Tour ranking are also invited. The same applies to Euro Tour tournaments, while the top-32 at Players Championship tournaments have protected status in the draw.
It is worth noting though that while this perk would've given Bunting, Chisnall and Rock top seeded status on the European Tour in the past it is no longer the case due to rule changes this season.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025
