PDC World Championship 2020 seeds profile: Adrian Lewis and Simon Whitlock

Lewis comes into this year's PDC World Championship after a good run at the Grand Slam of Darts and one that fully re-established 'Jackpot' as a player to be watched again. A Quarter-Final and his best run in a major tournament for some time, Lewis dazzled the crowd in Wolverhampton with certain performances and despite only getting to the Last 32 in Minehead, he has a lot to be confident about ahead of Ally Pally.

His first game's degree of difficulty depends on who he will play. Cristo Reyes has shown good form at times this year but at others has been quite indifferent; Lourence Ilagan on the other hand showed last year and has shown since the iteration of the PDC Asian Tour that he can upset the script and produce the goods and this could gleam a shock. For the Stoke ace, it could be delight or despair in a few weeks time.

Whitlock comes into the World Championship off some good form at times this year including Last 16 at the World Matchplay and European Championship and a player that at times seems to be finding his form again.

A tough test awaits the Australian though potentially with PDC ranking winner Harry Ward who will make his debut at the Alexandra Palace and Madars Razma who always has the potential to produce on the big stage.

Similar to Lewis, he could go on a big run or be a big casualty from the early stages of the tournament and with him losing in the second round for the last three years, all eyes will be on 'The Wizard'.
