PDC World Darts Championship tickets set to be available via ballot system for first time

The PDC World Darts Championship is set to vastly change. The 2026/27 edition is fast approaching and many fans will be considering a trip to Ally Pally to watch the best darters in the world compete for the greatest prize in darts. For the first time, tickets will be instead allocated via a ballot system.

It will take place from 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 at Alexandra Palace in London. The most iconic tournament on the darting calendar is set to be moved to a bigger location within the palace as it moves to the venue's Great Hall. This expansion increases the overall capacity to a record 180,000 tickets.
These tickets will be allocated through two separate windows. The first is exclusively for PDCTV Annual Members, giving subscribers a better shot at securing tickets before the general ballot opens. The PDCTV members' ballot opens at 12:00 BST on Tuesday, 1 September and closes at 23:59 BST on Monday, 7 September.
To be eligible, fans must have an active PDCTV Annual subscription before 23:59 BST on Sunday August 30. Subscriptions purchased after this deadline will only be eligible for the General Ballot.
That is not the only thing fans benefit. PDCTV Annual Membership includes live coverage and on-demand streaming of the sport's biggest tournaments, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes content. Each PDCTV member may submit one ballot application.
Closely following in suit is the General Ballot. This opens at 12:00 BST on Tuesday September 8 and closes at 23:59 BST on Monday September 14, and is open to all fans. Once the application period has closed, all entrants will be notified by email during September whether their application has been successful.

Huge demand for tickets with the sport growing
As darts gets more popular, tickets will be harder to get as they will be much more in demand. This is very much the case for the World Championship with not everyone entering the ballots likely to come out with a ticket.
There is a boost that more will be on offer amid the move to the Great Hall which raises capacity to a record 180,000 spectators. The governing body hopes this will create a fairer process for distributing tickets amid overwhelming demand, but they still expects demand to go very quickly.
Luke Littler defended his world title last year in a dominant final performance against Gian van Veen. The likes of Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting, Gary Anderson, Beau Greaves and more will venture to Ally Pally in December with the title in their sights.

- I just think Aspinall loves the razzmatazz rather than real darts, goes on about his walk on and the premier league, loves exhibitions and proposed a 'royal rumble' and i'm not sure if it was him that suggested a Ryder Cup style tournament? - I play at home against myself, sometimes on Dartcounter, never played league or county. My best average on 501 was 107 which I hit last year. Today I was averaging 94 on a few games of 501, no warm up, just a quick chuck after dinner. I imagine it's a bit different up on stage. - Indeed I've been to Dublin on numerous occasion the atmosphere was electric and the crowd were always pumped plus the City West was a cool venue. It was a good week away The double start and finish is different and actually very enjoyable but a week in a nothing happening crime riddled city in a soulless stadium does not appeal. - I really enjoyed the Women's Matchplay, Beau seemed slightly nervous but when it mattered, she hit the big scores and required check outs. Both Gemma and Fallon had her on the ropes and were equally unlucky. I wonder what ever happened to Gemma's partner Stephanie Smee, she was a decent player that just disappeared. Good to see her. I would like to see a longer format maybe over Saturday and Sunday.
