Price spoke afterwards about his mindset shift and going from not wanting to play the game to being back on form and loving it again.
"I thought I played pretty decent in that game, I scored alright. I think my scoring game needs to go up a couple of percent but my checking out was there. I slipped up in one leg which he won," said Price post match.
"I've played in the Champion of Champions, it's first to two legs and that's it. I've won that so I'm ready for this."
"Last year and the last couple I haven't enjoyed things and having a couple of months off has helped and has given me the love back for the game and I'm enjoying it."
"I think I do better in the non ranked events than the ranked ones but hopefully I'll do well in this one, get some more ranking points on the board and get back up the ladder."

"I didn't play well in the World Championship but I got to the Quarter-Finals on a B or a C game and that didn't really give me any confidence but going into this with World Series event in Bahrain and last week was a good boost. It's nice just to be playing well and enjoying the game again."
"Missing out on the Grand Slam, a tournament I love that really hurt. Having to sit in the house and watch that tournament. That hurts. I just want to keep playing in every tournament."
He also discussed the use of sports psychology and also the inclusion of himself and Nathan Aspinall in the Premier League Darts line-up.
"The PDC probably did the right thing with me and Nathan. We put bums on seats. Whether we've had one off season, I don't think that makes a difference. Hopefully I can back it up, it's a great privilege for the PDC to put me back in."
"I absolutely hate losing. People call me a bad loser, I'm the worst. I hate losing and if someone's a good loser and they like losing they don't deserve to play the game.
