A special prize awaits whoever manages to throw a nine darter in the current season of
Premier League Darts. Not a huge cash bonus, but a unique set of darts which could be won by all players or none at all.
Tournament sponsor BetMGM has had a gold set of darts designed worth 30,000 pounds per set. Every player who throws a nine darter will receive such a set. Moreover, there is no limit, so a player can win multiple sets of these darts.
“This is a great initiative by BetMGM which adds even more interest to what is already a fantastically entertaining tournament," said PDC Head of Media, Dave Allen. No tournament has featured more nine-darters than the BetMGM Premier League and this added incentive has certainly got the players talking ahead of the new season kicking off in Belfast.”
UK Director at BetMGM, Sam Behar, added: “We can’t wait for this year’s BetMGM Premier League Darts campaign to get underway and we felt it was important to reward the eight players if they can thrill the crowds by hitting a famous nine-darter. For every perfect leg hit in this year’s tournament we’ll be giving a player a set of 18ct solid gold darts, worth £30,000, as our way of congratulating them.
“There have already been 16 nine-darters in BetMGM Premier League Darts history and there’s no limit to the number of giveaways so there’s plenty to keep the players interested!”
It could just become an expensive gimmick for BetMGM, because over the years sixteen nine darters have already been thrown in the Premier League. The chance of a perfect leg is also instinctively higher because the best players in the world compete against each other every week. During the previous edition of the Premier League Darts, Gerwyn Price and Luke Littler managed to throw a nine darter.
