DRAW BRACKET 🔢 Here's how the draw bracket shapes up for the 2023 @PalmerbetAU New South Wales Darts Masters... Who will be crowned champion of our final event of the year Down Under?
We have arrived in Wollongong, where the sixth tournament of the 2023 World Series of Darts gets underway on Friday. The World Series tournament in Australia is the final event of this circuit prior to the World Series of Darts Finals later this year in Amsterdam.
The New South Wales Darts Masters will compete for the title in southeastern Australia. The field of participants consists of sixteen players. The eight chosen PDC stars will compete against eight local players.
Due to the absence of Michael van Gerwen - who preferred a vacation in Ibiza - Danny Noppert has replaced him as the Dutch representative in 'Down Under'. Noppert's first match of the tournament is Friday morning. He takes on Brenton Lloyd, who is making his debut on the television stage.
After Noppert, it is the turn of his Belgian colleague Dimitri van den Bergh. 'The Dreammaker' plays against Dave Marland in the first round. Next up is an Australian friendly between Damon Heta and Joe Comito.
Rob Cross, winner last week of the New Zealand Darts Masters, crosses swords with John Hurring in his opening match. Next, Gerwyn Price takes on Harley Kamp.
The most interesting draw of the first round is the duel between Nathan Aspinall and Simon Whitlock. Later in the day, Peter Wright will make his appearance. He will meet Darren Penhall. The final match of the first round is between world champion Michael Smith and Mal Cuming.
