POLL: Which players should make up the Premier League Darts line-up?

After the Masters (27-29 January), the PDC will announce the line-up for the 2023 Premier League Darts. So then it will be clear which eight players will visit 16 playing cities to compete for a spot in the play-offs.
Four players are already sure of their spots. Indeed, the top four in the world rankings after the PDC World Darts Championship will get an invitation anyway. Those are Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price.

clayton is a lock if you ask me. can’t leave out the guy who won either the league phase or the whole thing in both the last two years, especially when his form is still perfectly good (it isn’t a durrant situation). after that i’d lean toward humphries, cullen and aspinall, but i wouldn’t be against ross smith making it. i’m not sure why dimi is getting so many votes, he hasn’t been playing well enough for a while now and a pretty good WC (with a poor ending) isn’t nearly enough to swing it.
This list is missing the most important name. The great ex World Champion Richie Burnett
I think Humphries is not ready, he never won anything on the big stage.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025
