The first decisions fell Thursday night in
Premier League Darts. After the fourteenth night in Aberdeen,
Luke Littler and
Luke Humphries have definitely assured themselves of the playoffs.
Littler won a weekly Premier League Darts title in Aberdeen, Scotland, for the fourth time this season. With 36 points after 14 rounds of play, 'The Nuke' can hardly escape the league win. Humphries must win the next two nights of play to oust Littler from first place.
Behind the two World Championship finalists, three more players are competing for the other two tickets to the playoffs. Nathan Aspinall holds the third spot with 25 points, followed by
Michael van Gerwen with 24 points. Michael Smith is still just outside the top four with 22 points, but 'Bullyboy' will take on Aspinall next week in Leeds.
Rob Cross made it to his second weekly final in a row in Aberdeen, but thus lost again to Littler. His gap to the top four is still substantial. Cross has accumulated seventeen points, making his chances of making the playoffs virtually nil. Gerwyn Price (twelve points) and Peter Wright (four points) can no longer make the playoffs anyway.
