On Thursday evening, 19/3/2026, the seventh week of play in the
Premier League Darts is on the schedule, this time staged in Dublin, Ireland. For the first time in the competition we immediately see a quarterfinal clash between
Michael van Gerwen and
Gian van Veen. Both could do with a good result again.
The
Premier League Darts is once again being played in the now familiar mini-tournament format this year. Each night features a knockout system with quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. Players can collect points per night based on their performances. After sixteen regular nights, the top four in the standings qualify for the play-offs, which are staged at the end of May. That is where the Premier League champion is ultimately decided.
In Dublin, as every week, there is a £10,000 bonus for the night winner, along with five ranking points. The runner-up receives three points, while the losing semifinalists add two points to their tally. The players who go out immediately in the quarterfinals remain pointless.

Gian van Veen v Michael van Gerwen
We open the evening with an all-Dutch showdown between Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen. Both started the tournament superbly, meeting in the final on opening night. Van Gerwen reached another final in week two, while Van Veen made the decider in weeks 3 and 4.
The last two weeks, however, the wheels have come off a bit for both Van Gerwen and Van Veen. Both “Mighty Mike” and “The Giant” lost their opening quarterfinal match in weeks 5 and 6 and thus failed to add any points. This means that after six weeks Van Veen currently sits fourth in the rankings on 9 points, while Van Gerwen is sixth with one point fewer. Both could use a boost to climb the standings.
Looking at their head-to-head record, Van Gerwen holds a slight edge. Of the 11 meetings, “MVG” has come out on top 7 times against Van Veen. Last year’s World Championship runner-up has won 4 encounters. In the Premier League they have met once before, in the final of the opening week. Van Gerwen won that one.
Stephen Bunting v Luke Littler
Next up is a clash between Stephen Bunting and reigning world champion Luke Littler. Both made a slow start to their campaigns but have posted decent results in recent weeks. Bunting and Littler have each already won a night, “The Bullet” in Belfast and “The Nuke” in Cardiff.
Bunting seemed on course for a repeat of last year’s struggles with three opening-match defeats in the first three weeks. However, in week four in Belfast he suddenly took the night win, and last week he also reached the semifinals again. Due to his poor start, the Englishman still sits seventh on 7 points. Littler also started slowly and managed only 4 points across the first four weeks. He claimed his first nightly win in week 5 and reached the semifinals again last week. Thanks to those last two nights he has climbed to second place on 11 points.
On head-to-head form, Littler is clearly favored. He has won eight of their twelve meetings, while Bunting has prevailed only four times. Looking solely at the Premier League, they have met five times before, and Littler also leads there with four wins.
Josh Rock v Gerwyn Price
The third match of the evening features Josh Rock against Gerwyn Price. Rock’s Premier League debut is certainly not going as he had hoped, while Price, with a string of solid results, remains firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish.
Rock will mainly be hoping to finally notch his first win soon. After six weeks, the Northern Irishman is still stuck on 0 points. “Rocky” has yet to win his opening match on any night, which is already sending his play-off chances towards the bin. Only if he starts posting results weekly does a small chance remain. Price, by contrast, has made a fine start to his Premier League and sits on 9 points after six nights. “The Iceman” won the second night in Antwerp, among other results. Rock therefore appears the ideal opponent for the Welshman to collect more points and look towards the top two after this week.
The head-to-head between the two slightly favors Price, who has won six of their ten meetings. Rock has beaten the Welshman four times. They have faced each other on TV six times, with the head-to-head there tied at 3-3.
Rock threw a nine-darter in this Premier League, but after six weeks he is still stuck on 0 points.
Jonny Clayton v Luke Humphries
Finally, we get a clash between Jonny Clayton and Luke Humphries. Clayton is by far top of the table, while Humphries currently sits fifth, narrowly outside the play-off spots.
Jonny Clayton has been the standout of the 2026 Premier League Darts so far. “The Ferret” has won his opening match every week and reached three finals, winning two nights. That puts him on 19 points after six weeks, 8 clear of second-placed Luke Littler. Humphries, by contrast, had a slightly slower start and picked up just 4 points in the first four weeks. However, he reached the final last week, where he lost to his opponent this evening. He now sits on 9 points, level with Gerwyn Price and Gian van Veen.
Based on the fact that Clayton has not lost an opening match in this Premier League and sits comfortably on top, the Welshman is the favorite on paper. The head-to-head also favors “The Ferret.” Clayton has beaten Humphries 9 times in 14 meetings. In addition, they have already played each other twice in this Premier League, and in both cases “Cool Hand Luke” had to bow to the Welshman.
