Price, Anderson and Heta comfortably through as below-par Wright is whitewashed by Burton at Players Championship 13

The likes of Gerwyn Price, Gary Anderson and Damon Heta were all comfortable winners in the last 64 of Players Championship 13 as Peter Wright suffered a shocking, whitewash defeat to Stephen Burton.

Price was a 6-1 over an out-of-sorts Mervyn King who averaged just 72.67. Anderson and Heta both continued to show off some impressive form prior to the upcoming World Cup of Darts with with 6-1 and 6-2 wins over Geert Nentjes and Richie Burnett respectively.

The eye-catching result of the round however was Stephen Burton 6-0 Peter Wright. Averaging just 82.59, 'Snakebite' continues to struggle in 2023.

Elsewhere, Mike de Decker came through a top-quality encounter with Mickey Mansell 6-4, averaging a very impressive 103.64. Raymond van Barneveld continued to improve his chances of securing a return to the Winter Gardens for the World Matchplay with a 6-4 win over Robert Grundy and Christian Perez carried on making up for lost time and backed up a first-round win over Rob Cross with a second round success against Jamie Hughes.
