Price becomes seventh player to successfully defend a PDC major title

Gerwyn Price claimed victory yesterday at the Grand Slam of Darts to retain his title after an exceptional win over Peter Wright.

Price as a result joined an exclusive club in the process. That is to retain a televised title for a second year in a row after he also won last year in Wolverhampton.

These players are Phil Taylor, Rod Harrington, Raymond van Barneveld, Adrian Lewis, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.

As a result, he has fully established himself among the World's best and silenced some critics who thought he couldn't repeat the feat.
