A brilliant day from 'The Iceman' sees him collect a tenth Players Championship title in his career with a 102 average, his 6th ton plus of the day.
This was alongside nine maximums and as a result, his tournament average sits at 103.
Price produced a brutal start with a 12-dart break of throw but Humphries was straight back with double 18 after Price couldn't find the 125 checkout.
The former missed double 20 for a 77 checkout but Humphries missed three at the same target.
Price though missed another three golden opportunities and Humphries pinned double 10 last dart to make it 2-1.
Two 180's in a leg saw Price hold and make it 2-2. A 180 followed on Humphries' throw which saw him on his way to a potential break opportunity.
A 12-dart break in an 88 checkout saw him go 3-2 up. But Humphries replied with a 79 checkout to hit straight back.
Another 180 from Price saw him take it to Humphries again and he made it five perfect darts before delivering double six to break again at 4-3 ahead.

It was a poor leg from Humphries and Price finally held again at 5-3 up. This allowed 'The Iceman' to smell blood and he broke again with a 56 checkout to make it 6-3 and go on the brink.
An eighth 180 saw Price pin double 20 to go 7-3 ahead and one away.
Humphries stopped the rot but needed an epic comeback. A 126 checkout on the bull saw him start that with a break.
This proved to be a consolation though with a 174 leaving double 10 with Humphries not mustering any pressure. He pinned it last dart in hand to claim it.
