Price fires back on Van Gerwen comments after Ratajski win: "If I play my A game then Michael doesn't have a chance"

Gerwyn Price secured his passage to the Last `16 at the Grand Slam of Darts after easing past Krzysztof Ratajski in a 5-0 win.

Price spoke afterwards and was relieved that the pressure is now off going into Monday night when he will look to top the group in style.

"I'm happy. I didn't play brilliant there but Krzysztof weren't really at the races but I'll take that 5-0 and through to the Last 16. Pressure off for Monday, I don't think I've been in this situation before where I can just relax. It's always been up against it but I'm happy with the win,"

"I knew I was playing well, I wasn't scoring as well as I could but I was taking my chances, those last darts. That's what wins matches and tournaments."

Nine-darters backstage and Van Gerwen comments

He also discussed having the belief and confidence and how he was practicing supremely well backstage but not getting smashed on it.

"I'm practicing well. Me and Jonny was practicing backstage, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but I'm pinging nine-darters against him. The last time I did that he smashed me in the Grand Prix so when I was going on I was like I hope not again."

While also responding to comments made by Michael van Gerwen about how he believes if he's on his best, no-one can beat him.

"We all believe that if I play my A game then Michael doesn't have a chance and if he plays his game, he probably thinks the same."
