Price makes bold claim as Premier League Darts continues: "If I get into the top four, I will win it"

Gerwyn Price believes that if he gets in the top four of this year's Premier League Darts and heads into The O2 with only a few weeks left if he is going to achieve that.

Price gave himself a fighting chance last week by winning in Sheffield and said that he believes if he gets into the top four, he will go all the way.

“I’ve been rubbish for the past two or three months,” he said via Online Darts TV. “I’ve been scraping 91, 92, 93 averages and losing. To blow out the first two games with 100-plus averages [in Sheffield], when the pressure is on… There’s a lot more in the tank, a lot more to come.

“If I get into the top four, I will win it. I know I’ll have scraped through. If I’m number four, number three, whatever, I know if I get into that top four I will win this event.

“I possibly don’t deserve to be there. But sometimes in tournaments, when you get a bit of luck, you go on and win. And if I get through, I’ve definitely had a bit of luck.”

“At the moment, I’m probably better than Peter (Wright)’s been playing,” he added. “Although I’ve been playing rubbish, Peter’s probably just the same or even worse than I have. If it comes down to the crunch in Newcastle, I’m going to do it.”
