Gerwyn Price will make his Champions League of Darts debut this weekend in Leicester and he said he is looking forward to getting back out on the stage.
Price has gone out in the first round in both the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix and he wants to put that right at the round robin event.
He spoke about his group and said that he believes he has the toughest group on form out of both despite the players in the other one being ranked higher.
‘I’m just looking forward to getting back out onto the stage, the last two tournaments I’ve went out first round so hopefully I can come out and put on a good performance,” said Price to DartsNews.com.
‘I think we have the toughest group on form out of both, I know the other ones are ranked higher with Michael (van Gerwen) and whoever else but looking on form over the past year we probably have the toughest group.’
‘I’ve just not performed well on stage over the past two majors so hopefully the guaranteed three games mean I can go out and have a good game for myself.’
On potentially hitting a nine-darter for the £100,000 bonus for the crowd, he believes he has it in him and that it will be some more money off the PDC as well: ‘I hit one on the weekend on the ProTour and I have it in me. If It does come off I want to hit it not only for the crowd but for myself and I think it’s a couple of grand off the PDC as well!’
