After multiple ProTour titles in 2022, Gerwyn Price who has won multiple European Tours has struck on the Players Championship series.

Price won Players Championship 17 defeating Josh Rock in an 8-5 win in which both struggled to hold throw and also produce their best at times. But in a field where 'The Iceman' was the standout, he certainly delivered on that in Hildesheim.

Both players held throw to begin with Rock hitting double 15 to make it 1-1. He hit a double double 97 checkout using 19 and 20 to break and go 2-1 up.

But Price broke straight back with a 60 checkout for 2-2. He led 3-2 from there. Rock got back to parity but only after Price missed 170 to break for 4-2.

Price hit double 20 though with Rock waiting to break and it was 4-3. It was poised at 4-4. Price missed three to hold but Rock missed two to hit the front and Price hit double one to make it 5-4.

Price missed a dart again to break but Rock missed bull for an 81 and Price hit double two to head two away at 6-4. Rock hit double 20 to break back at 6-5. Both then missed chances and Price broke for 7-5 before sealing the deal.
