Gerwyn Price has claimed a fourth ranking title of the year at Players Championship 27 and a third on the ProTour after seeing off an in-form Krzysztof Ratajski in a final not short of needle and drama in Dublin.
Price was 6-1 up against the Polish Eagle who was defending a perfect record in PDC finals and seemingly on his way to another Players Championship title only for Ratajski to storm back into the tie.
It all began at 6-2 when Ratajski slammed in a 170 checkout and from there he won six legs in a row to go 7-6 up in an exchange which also included a warning to both players about celebrating with Price looking rattled.
The Pole had the upperhand at that point but Price used his aggression to his advantage slamming in a 121 checkout, he refused to show respect when they began the final leg and he claimed it before seeing off Ratajski in the deciding leg. He let out a roar afterwards as he got over the line.
