Gerwyn Price by his own admission wasn't at his best against Peter Hudson last night but moved through but like last year at this stage, 'The Iceman' has swept aside Ricky Evans.
Price went 2-1 down but was imperious from there with a 10-3 win which saw a 98 average and 52% on the doubles.
Evans began the tie well like alluded to producing a stunning 13-dart break of throw to enter a 2-1 lead over Price.
But he began to miss chances including two at 76 to break going into the break and Price pinned 80 to go 3-2 up.
Price began Evans throw with two 140's and a 139 to leave 82 which he pinned on bull, double 16 for an 11-dart break and a 4-2 lead.
He pinned double 10 for a hold to continue his lead to 5-2. Evans stopped the rot firing back with a 109 checkout to make it 5-3 albeit just a hold.
A 13-darter saw Price go 6-3 up and a clutch 64 checkout on double 20 saw a 7-3 lead and another break.
A 177 followed by 144 to leave 40 saw Price break again at 9-3 up to go one away.
Price missed double 20 for a 106 checkout to win immediately but was back for the same target for a 10-3 win.
