It has been a mixed bag when it comes to the PDC representatives in the latest two matches at the
New South Wales Darts Masters with
Gerwyn Price heading through, but Nathan Aspinall has been dumped out.
Price produced a dominant opener seeing off Harley Kemp 6-2. It was a 98.8 average for 'The Iceman' who hit four 180's and closed out the match with a 140 checkout.
This in response to Kemp reducing the arrears late on in the contest albeit with a hold hitting 143 in his high point of the tie, but it was the Welshman who found his way through to a tie with Damon Heta.
The main thriller though came between
Simon Whitlock and Nathan Aspinall with the home hero holding his nerve to edge out the recent World Matchplay champion 6-5.
It was a gripping deciding leg in which Aspinall missed a dart at 64 among a big chorus of vociferous Aussie fans who were behind their man right to the finish. But despite Aspinall being one of the best battlers on the PDC Tour, he couldn't find his way past 'The Wizard'.
It was a 99.6 average and six 180's from Whitlock who moves through to the final day, only two spots remain with Michael Smith and Peter Wright aiming to join the Quarter-Final line-up shortly.
