Ryan Searle has raced into the third round at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, putting in one of the most impressive performances seen on the Ally Pally stage this year, averaging 99.38, losing just one leg in a 3-0 victory over Matt Campbell.
Last year, Campbell's World Darts Championship was campaign was ended by a rampant Luke Littler. The Canadian seemed to have really run into it again here as Searle opened match with a 10-dart break of throw. Fair play to Campbell though, he immediately broke back. Taking leg 3 via the first ton-plus checkout of the contest, Searle regained control and then sealed the opening set on leg 4.

After Searle confidently held throw in the opening leg of the second set, 'Heavy Metal' sparked into life yet again on the second leg of the set, pinning a spectacular 164 checkout on the bullseye. Completing the whitewash set in more style, Searle produced a pop-pop 96 checkout for a 14-darter.
Averaging just shy of 104, Searle had been basically faultless in the opening two sets, making the road back into the game look a very arduous one for Campbell. A couple of missed darts at double from Searle opened the door for the Canadian in the opening leg of the 3rd set. Campbell couldn't capitalise though, allowing Searle to take a 6th straight leg. More missed doubles from the 'Ginger Ninja' followed in the next leg too as Searle got to the hill. Moments later, the victory was sealed, setting Searle up for a battle with Ryan Joyce in the next round.
