Krzysztof Ratajski will take on Michael van Gerwen in the second round of the
Czech Darts Open in Prague on Saturday. 'The Polish Eagle' won 6-3 over Madars Razma in the first round on Friday afternoon.
Ratajski is having a dramatic Euro Tour year this season after winning the German Darts Open just last year. The Pole played in 11 of the previous 12 Euro Tours in 2024, losing his first match no fewer than nine times.
The Pole broke Razma in the fourth leg with a 12-darter and did not give the break away after that. With an 80 finish and another 12-darter, Ratajski set the final score at 6-3.
Alan Soutar will also return in the second round of the Czech Darts Open tomorrow. The Scot triumphed 6-2 against Florian Hempel in the opening round. A meeting with Ross Smith in the last 32 now awaits the Scottish fireman.
Ritchie Edhouse had little trouble with Czech qualifier Jiri Brejcha. The match was a 6-2 victory for Edhouse, who posted a 97.21 average. The Englishman will face reigning world champion Luke Humphries in the second round.
