The first round has begun at Players Championship 28, the last in the current round of ProTour action with the likes of Raymond van Barneveld, Dimitri van den Bergh and Gian van Veen through their openers.
Van Barneveld thrashed Ted Evetts 6-1 with a 94 average, while there were wins over Jermaine Wattimena and Bradley Brooks for the latter duo.

The impressive wins though came from Daryl Gurney who after producing some mind blowing averages in recent days hit 106 in seeing off Boris Krcmar 6-4. Jules van Dongen too also starred with a 6-0 win over a struggling Brendan Dolan with a 98 average.
Wins also for Ryan Joyce, Callan Rydz, Luke Woodhouse and Gabriel Clemens as well as Kim Huybrechts who produced a stunning 144 checkout to deny Graham Hall in the opening game on the stream boards.
The top 16 will follow shortly, with the first round then concluding in Barnsley.
